Questions and Answers
Q: Will you travel to photograph our wedding?
A: Yes we will, we are destination photographers and we love to travel.
Q: Do you include a copyright release?
A: Yes, we give a shared release because we want our clients to enjoy our work when they hire us and give them the freedom of ownership.
Q: Why does it matter if I have a copyright release?
A: Having the copyright release means that you own the photographs and can therefore
have your images printed anywhere you would like. However, we strongly recommend you use a professional printing company as they will use top quality materials to insure great color, quality, and and longer life of the photos.
Q: Can we still order albums through W4 Photography?
A: Sure you can! We work with a high end album company that offers the finest leather albums, coffee table books, gallery wraps, cards, and just about anything else you may need.
Q: Do you edit and work on your own photographs?
A: Absolutely. Every photograph we take is processed and edited by us. We believe that editing is an important part of the creative process.
Q: Can we meet before I hire you? I would like to find out a little bit about who you are.
A: While it isn't necessary to meet with us first, we love to meet with our clients before they hire us so that they can get to know us and we can get to know them. Feel free to bring friends and family as well if you like. They can often help come up with some great questions!
Q: Is it better to have two photographers at my wedding?
A: We believe having two photographers is a great way to tell your story. This is why you'll always get two photographers with W4 Photography. When you can present a shot from two different perspectives, you get a more complete view and feeling of your wedding day. You can also see the benefits when you have photographs from two different locations at the same time. For example, when the bride and groom are getting ready. It's kind of a magical moment when you are able to see what your fiancée was doing right before they married you!
Q: When do we receive our photographs?
A: We tell our clients to expect them in four to six weeks after the wedding. It may seem like a long time but there's a lot of work that goes on. We'll send a few images throughout the process and keep you updated on the process.
Q: How many photographs do we get?
A: That depends on the type of coverage you choose. The more hours we shoot, the more images you receive. The different packages are broken down in the "pricing" section of our website.
Who is W4 Photography?
Sean Carswell is a graduate of The New England School of Photography and has worked over fifteen years in the industry. Sean had the opportunity to photograph many weddings for friends and family over the years but constantly stated that he did not want to earn a living photographing weddings. That changed in 2005 when his job search in Asheville NC landed him in a local wedding photographer’s dark room.
He began to appreciate the skill involved in capturing such an important event and saw that it could be done in a beautiful way. After moving from the darkroom into the position of photographer’s assistant, it wasn’t long before he was a second shooter. Not long after, Sean met his wife Iryna, a Belarusian medical student, who showed a natural talent for photography the moment a camera was in her hand.
After a few months of shooting together and documenting a few weddings on their own, Iryna suggested starting their own company.... and that’s just what they did. Under the name W4 Photography, Sean and Iryna have photographed many weddings and have met so many wonderful people.
“We are blessed to be in a position to work with each other and spend time with our children”.
